CRAIG MACNEILL
writer, director, producer, editor

Director and screenwriter Craig Macneill was born in Boston, MA. Having studied under

renowned filmmakers such as Stan Brakhage, Craig graduated from the University of Colorado

with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts. His work has been exhibited in festivals, galleries,

and exhibitions worldwide. His award winning short film, 'Late Bloomer,' was an official

selection at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival and played over twenty prestigious festivals

worldwide, winning the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Lake Placid Film Festival.

‘Late Bloomer’ is currently being distributed through IndiePix. IFC, in affiliation with Rooftop

Films, streamed 'Late Bloomer' throughout the fall and winter of 2007 on IFC.com.



Most recently Craig completed a short film, titled 'Lobos (Wolves),' shot entirely on location in Spain

with post production in New York City. Lobos premiered at the 2009 Zagreb Film Festival.


In January 2010, Craig was awarded a Jerome Foundation Grant. 'The Afterlight' is Craig's first


collaboration with Alexei Kaleina. He is based in Brooklyn. For more information on Craig please

ALEXEI KALEINA writer, director, producer, editor

Alexei Kaleina was born in New York City and educated at Vermont's Bennington College

and New York University.



His short films and video works have been shown and exhibited throughout North America

and the U.K. He is also a regular speaker at Manhattan's Rubin Museum of Art,

introducing and discussing various screenings there.



'The Afterlight' is Alexei's first collaboration with Craig Macneill. He is based
